If you don’t have one around the house or workplace then a Footstool is definitely a worthwhile acquisition. We hand make our Footstool range but Footstools are often sold along with main sofa sets by furniture dealers and manufacturers. They are usually found in large furniture stores and are strong enough to stand up on and yet light enough to be easily lifted. Footstools are small and close to the ground level. As pieces of furniture that sometimes need to hold considerable body weight, they can be most commonly made from wood, iron, or other metals.

Footstools are ideal for propping up your feet while lounging because they can make you feel more comfortable and are movable. In the workplace many shorter cooks keep a stepstool in the kitchen for easy access to high cabinets and shelves, and footstools are also used for this purpose in bookstores and libraries, ensuring that patrons can reach materials which are shelved in high spots. Some footstools are so large that they can even double as expanded seating, as is the case with many ottomans and hassocks.

Leather is the most durable type of upholstery for a footstool. Leather footstools are durable, comfortable and long-lasting. Leather footstools have been around in this country since chairs and seats were first made, although they were unlikely to take the form of today’s classic products that can be found at Distinctive Chesterfields web pages. Leather footstools are usually made of soft leather of fine and durable quality.
